What Is V-Tone?
V-Tone is a new FDA-cleared device that provides intravaginal electrical muscle stimulation (EMS). This strengthens the pelvic floor muscles by creating strong contractions. This non-invasive technology can treat stress, urge, and mixed urinary incontinence in women. It can also improve sexual function.
The ovule-shaped device is inserted vaginally and the strength of contraction is adjusted based on patient comfort level and visible contraction. We will monitor your treatment and can see your pelvic floor contracting when you are in a therapeutic range.
This procedure is a non-surgical method to restore function and confidence with minimal to no downtime. Typically, 6 treatments of 20-30 minutes are recommended 1 week apart, but therapy will be individualized.
Ideal Candidates for Vaginal Rejuvenation
This treatment is designed for women who want to address functional pelvic issues without surgery. Ideal candidates often include those who experience:
- Stress urinary incontinence during physical activities such as sneezing or jumping
- Urge incontinence characterized by a frequent, sudden need to use the restroom
- Postpartum changes that have weakened the pelvic floor muscles
- Decreased sensation or pelvic support due to natural aging or menopause
I have been extremely pleased with the service I receive at this clinic. The doctor, medical staff, and front desk staff are always so kind.

Each session at our Katy office lasts approximately 30 minutes. Patients remain comfortable while the device performs the muscle-strengthening work. Because the procedure is non-surgical, there is no downtime or recovery period required. Most individuals return to their daily routines immediately following their appointment.
Dr. Ann Bertles typically recommends a series of treatments to achieve the best functional outcomes.

V-Tone FAQs
Is V-Tone painful?
The procedure is generally well-tolerated and should not cause pain. Patients typically feel a tingling sensation followed by strong but manageable muscle contractions during the session.
How many sessions are typically required?
Most patients follow a protocol of 6 to 8 sessions, scheduled once or twice per week. Dr. Ann Bertles will determine the exact frequency based on your specific level of pelvic floor weakness.
How soon will I see results?
Some women notice an improvement in bladder control after only two to three sessions. However, the most significant changes in muscle tone and support occur a few weeks after completing the full treatment series.
How long do the results from V-Tone last?
Muscle-strengthening results can last for several months, though natural aging continues to affect the tissue. Maintenance sessions every 6 to 12 months are often recommended to preserve pelvic floor tone.
