Intravaginal electrical muscle stimulation (EMS)
V-Tone is a new FDA-cleared device that provides intravaginal electrical muscle stimulation (EMS). This allows strengthening of the pelvic floor muscles by creating strong contractions. This non-invasive technology can treat stress, urge and mixed urinary incontinence in women. It can also aid in improved sexual function.
The ovule-shaped device is inserted vaginally and the strength of contraction is turned up based on patient comfort level and visible contraction. We will monitor your treatment and can actually see your pelvic floor contracting when you are in a therapeutic range.
This procedure is a non-surgical method to restore function and confidence with minimal to no downtime. Typically, 6 treatments of 20-30 minutes are recommended 1 week apart, but therapy will be individualized.
